The Club Coach qualification + 2 years experience CoC - County Coach Air and .22 5 Years
The course has two main functions; to prepare the candidate for coaching from county to regional level and to to prepare the candidate to develop the skills and deliver the training Course

Note 1 - As a prerequisite and to maintain the qualification of a YPST or RCO, you must be of sufficiently good health, as not to cause a hazard on a range. The standard we would apply is the same that would be required by DVLA in order to obtain and maintain a UK Driving Licence. It is your own responsibility to insure that you meet this standard and we would recommend that you seek guidance from the Club if you are in any doubt; advice and guidance is provided on a case by case basis.

Note 2 - The YPST course is the minimum that the Scout Association will accept, for an instructor to be in charge of a range, whilst air operated firearms are in use. This includes air rifles and pistols, however to run a range whilst pistols are in use; the instructor must be able to demonstrate that they have competent in their use and control. The standard YPST course does not provide this. The candidate would need to demonstrate a relevant qualification or significant prior experience in the use of pistols. This will be assessed on a case by case basis. If this level of experience is not evident and the instructor wishes to use pistols then it is advised that the Club Instructor Air Gun or Club Instructor Pistol course is attained.
